The Quigley Long Shot - Painting

It has been a few years since I did any serious painting, so I thought I give it a try again. I used to be fairly good, but I can tell I'm out of practice, and the subject choosen was a bit ambitious. Maybe I'll pick something easier and a little smaller next time. (This one is 24x48 inches). This painting is from the movie "Quigley Down Under"and is the famous scene where Quigley (played by Tom Selleck) takes a 1000 yard shot with his Sharps 45-70 rifle. I picked this subject because I also like shooting and have a Sharps 45-70 myself. 3 pictures of my painting and 1 photo from the movie for comparison.
