TOY BOXES

It's that time of year to prepare for Christmas.  Today I finished 2 toy boxes.  With a little careful planning each was made from a single 5x5 sheet of 1/2 in baltic birch plywood.   The box part (excludes the seat back) of each is 36x18x18.  Lid has piano hinge and an additional mechanism which prevent the lib from dropping fast on little fingers. (also note the 1 in space between the lib and the front, also to protect fingers).
Each has 3 coats of high gloss white enamel.  The box with the "Cat in the Hat" on the front goes to grandkids in Houston.   The box with "Horton" the elephant will go to my granddaughter in Ft. Worth.   Hope they like them.
