Tried a massively LARGER woodturning project

It's nearing Christmas, and my son/daughter-in-law wanted a large salad bowl (also for pop-corn). I've had one for years, and I use it a lot, so this sounded like a good project to try. So I made this bowl from maple and bloodwood. It's 15.5" x 7.5". The size was a challenge, and I had to manufacture an additional tool rest extension to get inside the bowl. (Even though this is a Christmas project, I think there is little risk of my daughter-in-law going to this blogsite and seeing her gift early).
