Plant Stand

Made this plant stand for my son AJ. The legs are ~36" tall; the top is ~13" square; the little shelf was added for support and is dimensioned to accept an 8.5" x 11" sheet of paper. There are 3 types of wood. The legs and trim are bicote, the lighter wood is rock flamed maple, the dark centers of top and shelf is yellow heart (very hard wood) which has been stained with a very dark walnut stain. I tried to give the whole thing an antique art deco look.
This plant stand was made because I had made a more modern type (in backgroud of photos), which really wasn't to my son's taste, so I tried again. The one in the background has a marble base and several round shelves which can be arranged either all vertically (as in photo) or offset at any angle relative to each other. Still need to add finish and stain to this one.
