A Father's Pride

This is not my normal type posting. Instead I wanted to make a public statement about how proud I am of my son Rick, his wife Deanne, and their family. Rick finished his master program in December (thru Texas Womens Univeristy in Houston) and called last night to say he had passed the national occupational therapy licencing exam required by Utah for his state OT licence. (He can now start putting letter's after his name and will practice in Utah).

Years ago I had some doubts about his getting a degree, let alone a masters, but now those doubts are gone, probably as a result of two decisions. a) Marriage to a good supportive wife (Deanne), and b) deciding to go for a degree in a field he both liked and which would support a growing family.

I am very very very proud of Rick for those choices and equally proud of the support Deanne has given him. He couldn't / wouldn't have done this without Deanne's support. It was truely a family effort.
